Since founding NOVAX in 2006, Chairman Yang Lien-Chih has been committed to driving the company’s growth. In 2008, under his leadership, the team earned certification from Germany’s VDA QMC for AdBlue®, making NOVAX the first fully compliant local manufacturer of diesel exhaust fluid.
From the early setback of their first antibacterial product to transforming adversity into opportunity through AdBlue®, Yang has upheld his vision through challenging times. Today, he has established NOVAX’s five-core business divisions—AdBlue® diesel exhaust fluid, waste mattress recycling and reuse, ROSEs rapid fermentation, DLED intelligent lighting control systems, and thermosetting plastic pyrolysis R&D.
This year, Yang’s lifelong philosophy of “reverence for nature, altruism, and collective benefit” earned him the 2025 Excellence Summit Award for Outstanding Leadership. His recognition stands as a testament to the principle that true leaders do not wait for the future—they shape it. Chairman Yang not only steers business success, but carries a mission to foster social and environmental well-being.
Building deep expertise through disciplined learning, and anticipating emerging trends to stay ahead of the market.Born into a farming family, Mr. Yang Lien-Chih experienced a humble and challenging upbringing. With a bedridden father and a mother who worked tirelessly to support the family, Yang developed a strong resilience and a deep desire to transform his life through knowledge. Motivated by the determination to repay his parents and give back to society, he chose to walk a more demanding path. Upon receiving his university entrance results, Yang had the opportunity to attend National Defense Medical Center as a medical student. However, he made a bold decision to pursue Chemical Engineering at Tunghai University instead—laying a solid foundation for his future in science and industry.
In 2003, Yang launched his first startup, focused on nano photocatalyst antibacterial products. However, the outbreak of the SARS epidemic severely disrupted the supply chain, leading to a production standstill. Yang endured that 'dark chapter' with unwavering conviction. Instead of chasing short-term trends, he made a firm resolution—to build solutions that truly drive societal change.
By the end of 2006, having gained both technical advantage and strategic foresight, Yang secured NT$15 million in startup capital. The following year, he directed his efforts into developing AdBlue®—a diesel exhaust fluid critical to reducing emissions. He was quick to detect tightening European environmental regulations, and foresaw a surge in demand across Asia. Within six months, his team successfully formulated a compliant solution and launched full-scale production. After years of refinement, NOVAX received certification from Germany’s VDA QMC in 2008, becoming Taiwan’s first fully local manufacturer covering R&D, production, storage, logistics, and on-site dispensing. With a single barrel of crystal-clear, precisely engineered urea solution, Yang opened the path to green entrepreneurship—pioneering diesel emission reduction awareness across Taiwan.

Guided by the spirit of collective growth and efficient leadership, shaping enduring corporate sustainability.
Building on NOVAX’s market-leading position in the AdBlue® sector, Chairman Yang Lien-Chih has advanced a business philosophy rooted in “reverence for nature, compassion for people, and collective prosperity.” He further introduced the “Five Arrows” growth strategy, positioning NOVAX as a “system architect for sustainable action.” The five strategic divisions are as follows:
-
AdBlue® Applications Division:
Through smart storage tanks and the i‑Depot dispensing system, NOVAX has established over 570 refueling stations across Taiwan, offering high-specification AdBlue® products with integrated data management capabilities. -
Waste Mattress Recycling Division:
By implementing automated dismantling lines, the company disassembles used mattresses and transforms them into recycled materials—addressing one of the most challenging issues in waste resource recovery. -
ROSEs High-Speed Fermentation System Division:
This system converts organic waste into valuable bio-fertilizer and soil conditioner within 12 to 24 hours. It integrates automated material handling with proprietary enzyme formulations, and is scheduled for on-site testing in Taiwan this August. -
Thermoset Plastic Pyrolysis R&D Division:
Utilizing low-temperature catalytic pyrolysis technology, NOVAX is developing processes to convert thermoset plastic waste into reusable oil at lower energy costs. This initiative aims to overcome a longstanding challenge in the industry and will serve as a focus for future innovation. -
DLED Smart Lighting Control Division:
The “Green Light Leasing Program” provides energy-efficient lighting solutions with zero upfront equipment costs for commercial buildings, communities, and underground parking facilities. Offered under a shared-revenue model, this program promotes accessible, low-carbon lighting upgrades.
